ELVIS PRESLEY - "ELVIS" (LPM-1382) - FIRST PRESSING with "AD BACK" COVER from 1956.

RECORD:  VG- with glossy surfaces. There are several scuffs and scratches as would be expected on a record of this vintage. I test-played "Old Shep" and although the vocals and instrumentation were strong, there is a tiny scratch toward the end of that song that results in a repeat upon play. Some noticeable crackle is more at the beginning of that track as well. When possible, I always test-play the softer songs in order to get a more accurate assessment of surface quality. This is a Hollywood pressing with the matrix numbers ending with 4S/4S. The labels are clean and original with just spindle marks being the only detraction.  

COVER:  VG with a crack on the spine, which is actually a split that runs from close to the top, on down. The majority of the lettering remains legible, however. The upper and lower seams are fully intact with no tape whatsoever. The front and back are very clean and original with no writing or other distractions. The two lower corners do have some bending, but are not overly offensive to the aesthetics of this cover. This "Ad Back" cover has been labeled as "Cover 1C" in Jerry Osborne's "Presleyana VII" (2012). This album showcases Elvis' raw, pure and energetic style that made him who he was and why he was called the "King of Rock n' Roll". 

INNER SLEEVE:  The original "onion skin" sleeve, although it has a long tear down the center of one side. A plain white sleeve has been provided as well.
