I'm MAK listed on the label AKA Mike A. Kuehl. I recorded this group in 1975 / 1976. There were 500 copies issued. This has never been played. There are a few scuff marks on the lead-in groove otherwise this is close to mint. The information here about the recording is 100% correct.
"Girl" is a Fusion Jazz recording with an up-tempo drum beat provided by the late Gary Durkee though the tune itself is more like a medium soft rocker. It absolutely is NOT SOUL. It is a chick tune and women love it. The refrain has a multi-layered harmony and the primary lyric says, "Girl, don't hide the love you're saving just for me" and "Step out of the darkness and into the light."
"Wild Woman" is just the opposite as a progressive rocker that accuses that woman saying "Raise your eyes to the sun and breaking glass falls within your mind" and "Wild woman, evil woman, victim of your social standing." If nothing else it's anti-materialistic. Pretty heavy. We actually filled a garbage can full of broken glass and rolled it around on the studio floor at the end of the tune whereas wind and a wind chime wraps up "Girl."
It was recorded on an early Tascam 1/2" 8-Track machine. If you purchase this recording, I'll gladly fill you in with more details.
Will ship world-wide but please contact me before purchasing or bidding. Shipping cost will vary and is only an estimate subject to change from Rhinelander, Wisconsin where the population is more like 8,300 not 6,500.
Thanks and good luck! Mike / Passage Recording (Formerly Wyldwood)
