Argus 12" Vinyl LP from 1972

Label: MCA   Cat No: MDKS 8006

Genuine UK 1st press from 1972 with Black and Blue hexagon labels, with the earliest matrix numbers. In a non-laminated first edition gatefold sleeve from Robert Stace.

The disc is in great shape and plays great throughout. There is a bit of surface noise in Time Was and at the beginning of The King Will Come.  The heavy weight vinyl is very clean and has lost none of its sheen. There are only very light sleeve withdrawal lines and the labels have very few spindle trails.

The outer sleeve is also in great shape with no rips, splits or scribbles.  There is a little shelf wear at the bottom edge, a little corner rubbing, and a trace of price-sticker residue on the front - all minor. The text on the spine is fully readable.

This has the original Decca poly lined inner with correct date code 4-72. There is a neat writing in one corner – showing the original record shop’s record of cat number and price (see photo).

Original release, looked after by myself since new, plays well with some surface noise consistent with vinyl of this period.

 I am a lifelong record collector selling from my personal vinyl collection. I have been buying vinyl since the early 1970s. Most records have been only lightly played on high quality turntables. The records have been well cared for in a smoke-free and pet-free home.

My records are all original pressings (1st, 2nd and subsequent) from the 60s/70s/80s. They are not modern re-issues.

I try to provide accurate descriptions. Records are play tested both sides, not just visually graded.

Nb hairline marks are a result of occasional withdrawal from sleeves and have little impact on sound quality. Also, very few original vinyl records lie totally flat. As for background noise, all records will have some background noise and this often reflects the variable pressing quality. I only draw attention to marks, warping or background noise in my listings if I consider them at all significant.
