I’ve found three copies of an unknown 1977 sampler EP for the Bowman/Baby Grande label. The record contains four separate two-minute edits of songs by the Energy Commission (I Only Have Eyes for You), Hal Gordon (Ballad of a Matador), Nothin’ Sirius (Fly Soufflé) and Bryan Banks (New York City Blues). The oddest thing about this record is that the Energy Commission is listed as “The Five Classics.”  My only guess would be that between the release of this sampler and the Energy Commission record, the band name was changed for legal reasons (there was also a doo-wop vocal group called the Five Classics).
