HAPPY NEW YEAR! Kingelvis56 is back after a Christmas Season break and will be posting many, many more collectible Elvis Presley records for my customers, both old and new. Stay tuned and enjoy!
ELVIS PRESLEY – “ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS” (LPM-1707) – LOT OF FOUR DIFFERENT ALBUMS! THE LOT IS AS FOLLOWS:
ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS (LPM-1707)
RECORD: VG- due to numerous surface scuffs and scratches on both sides. There is one scratch on each side that can be felt with the fingertip, so audible disturbance will be a guarantee. Expect “ticks”, “pops” or even skips on this Rockaway pressing. This is a Third Pressing, with the white “RCA Victor” logo above the Dog on the Black labels (1965-68). The labels are free of any writing or stickers, but do show some spindle marks. Matrix numbers end with 28S/28S.
COVER: VG+ with light to moderate ring wear on both sides as well as initials written to the upper left corner on the front and what appears to be a corresponding name handwritten very lightly on the upper portion of the back side. There are definitely no seam splits, tape or staple holes. Some corner wear is noticed, however.
INNER SLEEVE: Comes with a period-correct, Blue, Black & White “ELVIS’ GREAT LP CATALOG” sleeve from the era. There is a bit of “wear & tear” to it, however.
G. I. BLUES (LPM-2256)
RECORD: VG with pleasing surfaces for the grade. Although there are many surface scuffs & scratches, none of which can be felt with the fingertip. This record should play quite well, but expect some light “ticks” along the way. This record is a Third Pressing with the white “RCA Victor” logo above the Dog on the Black labels (1965-68). Second Pressings of this record with “MONO” at the base of the labels are highly underrated as they are extremely rare. The labels on this Indianapolis pressing are clean, overall, but a sticker of some kind has been removed from the Side 1 label, leaving behind some gum residue, although it is not “sticky”. Matrix numbers end with 19S/20S.
COVER: VG- with the upper seam being split, almost completely. There is considerable wear to the lower edge as well as the spine. A small split is observed to the lower edge to the center. Ring wear and general surface scuffing can be seen on both sides. There is no writing or staple holes on this cover, but some old tape residue is present to the lower edge, near the open end. Comes with a period-correct RCA Victor inner sleeve.
ROUSTABOUT (LPM-2999)
RECORD: VG+ with very pleasing surfaces. There are some very light surface scuffs that do not impede the listening enjoyment, save for one scratch toward the end of “WHEELS ON MY HEELS”. Some moderate “ticks” are noticed, but definitely no skips! I played this record in its entirety and it was very enjoyable. This record, being a Rockaway pressing, is a First Pressing. Hollywood was the exclusive pressing plant for the “last of the ‘Silver Tops’”. The labels are very clean and original, with just some very light spindle marks noticed. Matrix numbers end with 1S/11S.
COVER: GOOD with upper & lower seams split 10 and 9 inches, respectively. There is also an extensive break in the spine as well as some bending about the corners. This cover appears to have been given to a 2-year-old for entertainment! It would be recommended to attempt to locate a superior cover for this record. This album comes with a plain white inner sleeve.
HOW GREAT THOU ART (LSP-3758)
RECORD: VG- with numerous surface scuffs & scratches. There is at least one scratch that can be felt, along “IF THE LORD WASN’T WALKING BY MY SIDE”. Expect much audible disturbance with this Grammy Award winning, Hollywood pressing from 1967. The “Stereo Dynagroove” labels are pleasing, but do show spindle marks and fingerprinting. Matrix numbers end with 3S/4S.
COVER: VG+ with light to moderate ring wear on both sides as well as corner wear, mainly to the open end. The spine is fully legible and sound, as are the upper & lower edges. There are no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes anywhere on this cover. Comes with a plain white inner sleeve.
GOOD LUCK!
