ELVIS PRESLEY – “SPEEDWAY” (LSP-3989) – FIRST PRESSING FROM 1968
RECORD: VG+ on the high end of the scale with just a whisper from VG++, but I want to stay conservative. The vinyl is very clean and glossy with just some very light sleeve scuffs and a few other scuffs, none of which can be felt with the fingertip. This Indianapolis pressing should play great! The labels are beautiful with just a few light spindle marks noticed. This Original Soundtrack album was released in June of 1968 and includes the hit single “LET YOURSELF GO / YOUR TIME HASN’T COME YET, BABY”. This album holds the unique charm of being the only Elvis Presley album to contain a song that is performed entirely by a different recording artist, in this case, Nancy Sinatra singing “YOUR GROOVY SELF”. The matrix numbers end with 1S/2S.
COVER: VG++ showing just some light to moderate ring wear. The spine as well as upper & lower edges are fully legible, smooth and without any splitting. Some minor corner wear is noticed. There is no tape, writing or staple holes whatsoever! This cover is fully original, retaining great color and eye-appeal. No collection of Elvis Presley records is complete without this “SPEEDWAY” Soundtrack!
INNER SLEEVE: The original “ELVIS’ GREAT LP CATALOG” (40C) sleeve from the era.
BONUS PHOTO: Missing from this album.
SONG LISTING:
