This is the first 7” AA side vinyl from Peter Gabriel’s ‘Scratch My Back’ album project – released specially for Record Store Day 2010. ‘Scratch My Back’ is a series of song exchanges in which Gabriel and other leading artists reinterpret each other’s songs. ‘The Book Of Love’ - a cult classic, and one of the stand outs from The Magnetic Fields’ three-disc opus ’69 Love Songs’. Peter Gabriel’s version has been given a grand, cinematic treatment, while deeply romantic strings remain unceasingly faithful to Merritt’s perceptive dissection of love’s simplicities.
