Dinu LIPATTI "Mozart Concerto No 21" LP Angel AB-8048 Japan Release Obi KARAJAN

Dinu LIPATTI, piano; Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Herbert von Karajan, conductor. "W. A. Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major; Piano Sonata No. 8 in A Minor; J. S. Bach Partita No. 1." Angel AB-8048. Japan release. Vinyl LP.

From a serious and conscientious Japanese collector. All of the albums were stored in individual protectors, complete with inserts, and in the case of the Japanese releases, with obi bands. The vast majority of the records are spotless, with no visible scratches or scuffs, clean labels and tight spindle holes. The collection is in the hundreds so I listen to as much as I can and sample at least a little of everything. Many of the records are perfectly quiet, many have the occassional light pop that is more noticeable in the quiet sections of classical music and would not be heard in a lot of popular music. A few have a little more noise though that often takes the form of just a little noise at the lead-in of a side that dissipates after a few revolutions. Someone who is a more professional or confident record cleaner than I may clear up those light noises. Though obviously well cared-for, this is an older collection and like all Japanese collectibles with paper the Japanese climate can become an issue. All of the sleeves are in excellent structural condition, laminated sleeves are usually bright and shiny, boxed sets have no split corners, very few bumps or injuries - but there is a range of humidity/foxing effects. Many of the sleeves have no spots or discolorations whatsoever but others have touches - usually seen on the undersides of clamshell boxes and the insides of gatefold releases or on the undersides of obi bands. And in the worst cases (thankfully very rare) moisture and plastic have reacted between the vinyl and the inner Japanese LP sleeves leaving touches of residue. Anyway, these condition issues are noted. Lastly, very few of these Japanese releases are listed on Discogs.

Media Condition: Visually appears Excellent. Audio spot check Excellent. Sleeve Condition: Excellent, with obi.
