ARTIST - MILES DAVIS QUINTET
TITLE - STEAMIN'
LABEL - PRESTIGE
CAT# - PRLP 7200
SLEEVE - VG+
WAX - VG- to VG
ORIGINAL 1961 U.S. MONO 1ST PRESSING. SLEEVE IS REALLY NICE, HIGH GLOSSY LAMINATED LOOK & FEEL, NO WEAR SPOTS, SEAM SPLITS / TAPE, THERE IS A LIL' FRAYING AT CORNERS, NOT MUCH. W.O.B. - "SCOTT" HAND WRITTEN AT TOP. WAX IS DEEP GROOVE & HEAVY WEIGHT. SIDE A UNFORTUNATELY LOOKS LIKE ITS BEEN MARBLEIZED, *VIEW LAST 2 PHOTO's POSTED TO GET AN IDEA* SIDE B LOOKS NORMAL. WAX IS DEEP GROOVE AND NEEDLE STAYED IN PLACE MAJORITY OF TIME (just side A in 2 or 3 spots jumped slightly). I THINK AFTER A GOOD CLEANING ON A VPI MACHINE, IT SHOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE. SIDE B WAS FINE THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF WHOLE SIDE. CONSIDERING THE WAX DOES HAVE THAT MARBLEIZED LOOK ON SIDE A, SOME LIGHT MARKS & SCRATCHES TO IT, IT STILL SOUNDS REALLY GOOD. THERE IS SOME LIGHT BACK ROUND NOISE AS FAR AS CRACKLING & POPS AT SOME POINTS OF PLAY, BUT I ASSURE YOU IT DOESN'T EFFECT THE ENTIRETY OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC ITSELF. I SAMPLED THE ENTIRE ALBUM. LABELS ARE BLACK & YELLOW "FIREWORKS" w/ 203 So. WASHINGTON BERGENFIELD NJ ADDRESS WHICH ARE BOTH CLEAN. MATRIX ON DEAD WAX READS;
SIDE 1 - RVG MACHINE STAMP then PRLP 7200 A HAND ETCHED
SIDE 2 - RVD MACHINE STAMP then PRLP 7200 B HAND ETCHED
