John Mayall’s Blues Breakers with Paul Butterfield, same (Decca DFE-R8673) (1967).
One-off recording session, produced by Mike Vernon and engineered by Gus Dudgeon, at which Butterfield, visiting the UK, joined forces with the Bluesbreakers. ‘According to Vernon, “It was planned as a joint venture between Decca and Butter’s label [Elektra] . . . the lineup of the Bluesbreakers was Mayall, Peter Green, John McVie and, I guess, Aynsley Dunbar. So it predates Peter’s departure – but it must have been a close thing.” The agreement with
Elektra gave Decca UK rights only (the -R in the catalogue number indicates a
restricted sales area), but the US company seems to have done nothing with the
recordings, and the Decca EP – which has never been released in a digital form
– remains the only point of access to this happy meeting of several key players
in the ’60s blues renaissance.’ (From an article in The Blues Magazine #5 [2013].)
All My Life/Riding on the L & N//Little by Little/Eagle Eye.
Condition: disc has light wear and a few light scratches and scuffs but no significant damage and plays excellently. Labels clean and undamaged. Jacket has one small crease (approx. 1") on the front but the lamination is intact all over and there are no slits, tears or bumps whatsoever. A very good copy of this scarce and important release.
Note to buyers: postage rates quoted
are estimates. If, once I’ve packed and weighed your record(s), I find
the postage charge is less than my estimate, the surplus will be
