About Us

Grading

All used records are cleaned thoroughly on a VPI Record Cleaning Machine.

All records are graded conservatively!

NM : The record will be like new, most likely unplayed, with no marks. This is the highest I grade. The cover will be perfect as well.

EX (also known as VG++):  The record has plenty of luster and will have one or two superficial marks that keep it from being graded NM. These superficial marks will not affect sound. The record was most likely played only a handful of times. The cover is close to perfect if not for a promo stamp/mark, dinged corner, small crease or neat pen/thin marker scribble.

VG+ : The record still has a nice luster and will have very minor surface or scuffs marks. The record has been played before but was well taken care of and will play with very few audible imperfections. The cover is in great shape, but may have some dinged corners, small creases, promo mark or cut, dot-size stain, or very minor pen/marker scribble, but there will be No water damage, No ringwear, No split seams, No dirt, or No taped edges.

VG : The record will have light surface marks or scuffs, but nothing that is feelable or deep. The record will play with light surface noise in quiet passages, but will not overpower the music throughout. The cover is completely intact, but may have one or two of the following imperfectons: small water spot, minor writing/mark, partial ringwear, minor stain/dirt, small split seam, neatly taped edge, or one damaged corner.

VG- : The record will have scuff and surface marks with one or two that may be feelable, but not deep. The record will play with light surface noise throughout and may include a click or pop here and there, but this record will not skip. The cover will have some or all of these: light water damage, small writings/markings, light ringwear, small stains or dirt, some split seams, neatly taped edges all-round, two or more damaged corners, etc., but the cover will still be intact so that you can store the record inside the jacket.

G : The record will have numerous scuffs and some deep marks with surface noise that will include some clicks, pops, and may skip once or twice, but still a listenable copy. The cover will have some or all of these: heavy water damage, large writing/markings, heavy ringwear, bad stains or dirt, split seams all over, badly taped edges all-around, etc., but the cover should be somewhat intact, though perhaps not for storing record inside.
