Did we just mention IDLEWILD? Yes, yes we bally well did. Back on December 1st 1997, nigh on a giantly massive twenty years ago, their ‘Chandelier’ fierce panda 7” was unleashed upon a hopeful public. The panda was but a brief stopping point for the band between the Human Condition and Deceptive labels but we had a riotous fun few months working with them – indeed, it was some idiot at the panda who came up with the pithy comparison of the early frantic Idlewild sound to that of “A flight of stairs falling down a flight of stairs”.

That pithy comparison appears on the run-out grooves of the ‘Chandelier’ 7” and indeed on the test pressing of said release. And rather excitingly we have ONE of those ‘Chandelier’ 7” white labels available on our world famous official fierce panda eBay department right now. The catalogue number is NING 42, and there were only ten of these little beauties ever pressed up, so this one panda copy is – quite literally – rarer than the tooth of a happy hen. Happy bartering!
