Up for your consideration is one set of Seeburg Background Music Library records which were used in the Seeburg Background Music System from approximately 1959 through the early 1980's.

This auction is for 7 Mood format records.  This particular set is a mixed bag with various dates.  The box that I received, years ago with this set was blank with no label.  Records are also manufactured by two different labels, Columbia and Decca.

All appear to be in good to very good condition except for one record which has a scuff on side B which will affect playing (I have photographed it).

Records are labeled as follows:
M 15, 4/1/64, Decca Custom (has a scuff on side B)
M 12, 4/1/63, Columbia Custom
M 13, 7/1/66, Decca Custom
M 18, 10/1/62, Columbia Custom (has writing on label on side B)
M 14, 4/1/62, Columbia Custom
M 16, 4/1/66, Decca Custom
M 17, 4/1/63, Columbia Custom

These records are being sold as is, no returns.

Records are 9 inches in diameter and have a center hole of approximately 2 inches in diameter.  They play at a speed of 16 2/3 rpm.

These types of records were originally played in a Seeburg BMS player which was used in Grocery Stores, Department Stores, Motels, Factories, etc., to broadcast background music over the PA system.  Seeburg put out three formats, Basic, Mood and Industrial.

Replacements were issued quarterly, and the subscriber of the service was to change out 7 discs based on the number on the record label and send back the discs that were removed from the machine.  Failure to do so resulted in the subscriber being charged an additional fee of 22-24 cents per month for each record not returned, according to the instructions on the box.  Records, once returned, were never used again and presumably destroyed.

I will be listing numerous sets of these records over the next few weeks.  Most of my collection is Seeburg but I also have a few odds and ends labeled, Rowe Customusic, a competitor of Seeburg.
