Elvis performed “Hound Dog” on both The Milton Berle Show and The Steve Allen Show and “Don’t Be Cruel” on all of his Ed Sullivan Show appearances. He remained on the charts with these two songs for 55 weeks, the biggest double-sided hit ever.
