 "Metal Box is the second album by Public Image Ltd, released by Virgin Records on 23 November 1979. It was reissued as Second Edition in February 1980 by Virgin Records in the United Kingdom, and by Warner Bros. Records and Island Records in the United States. The album was a departure from PiL's 1978 debut First Issue, with the band moving into a more avant-garde sound characterised by John Lydon's cryptic vocals, propulsive dub-inspired rhythms led by bassist Jah Wobble, and an abrasive, "metallic" guitar sound developed by guitarist Keith Levene. Metal Box is widely regarded as a landmark of post-punk. In 2003, the album was ranked number 469 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time."

"Public Image Ltd...John Lydon.Keith Levene.Wobble.Jeannette Lee.Dave Crowe..." were the members of PIL at the time of the release. However, Jeannette Lee and Dave Crowe as non-musical band members are not featured on the record. 

Packaged in a 12" film can-style metal box. Includes an A5 size sheet with tracklist and line-up.

Side B ends with a locked groove which repeats the last few seconds of "Swan Lake" endlessly until the needle is lifted from the record.

tin can: vg  as 90% of these tin containers, has oxidised since 1979 but is still in great condition with sticker on reverse. I've seen much worse!
