THE ETERNAL 7" Rejected Test Pressing
This is a RARE Screen-Printed Glow-In-The-Dark rejected TEST-PRESSING
The original idea was to have the MCA-DAY logo screen-printed on the B-Side in metallic silver, on the glow-in-the-dark vinyl so when the lights are out, you can read "MCA-DAY" on the actual vinyl. But the screen-printing did not print perfectly in the one inch diameter around the center hole to pass strict quality-control. Reason being that vinyl presses don't press records perfectly flat around the center hole. So screen-printing must avoid having art too close to the hole or it will bleed off a bit.

Though it's nothing aesthetically major, the creative director & label decided to scrap this idea and create labels for one side along with the die-cut jacket which resulted in the final version won by fans at the MCA-DAY event in Brooklyn.

What's also unique about this record is that the audio is only on one side of the record–opposite the screen-printed side, unlike the final release which has the audio pressed on both sides. You can read more about the final release by searching: MCA-DAY / The Eternal 7"

Comes in a black inner-sleeve stamped with the official MCA-DAY logo in silver metallic paint.
This vinyl glows RED and is VERY heavy–feels like 300 gram.

INFO ABOUT MCA-DAY & THE RECORDING:
On June 15th, 1998, Adam Yauch along with members of Congress, human rights activists and musicians gathered at the U.S. Capitol to stage a rally in support for human rights in Tibet. Preserved on this very limited Eternal 7” is Yauch’s message of world peace from that day. This record serves to carry forward Adam Yauch’s eternal message of world peace that’s celebrated on MCA-DAY, an annual tribute event honoring the life of musician & humanitarian of the legendary Beastie Boys.
INFO about the final MCA-DAY Eternal 7" record (PRESSED AFTER THIS TEST PRESSING WAS REJECTED):
Never sold in stores. First unveiled & produced specifically for the MCA-DAY event on August 20th, 2016 at Littlefield, Brooklyn, NY. 5 copies were won by fans during an Adam Yauch trivia contest at MCA-DAY. The remaining copies were auctioned with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Adam Yauch Foundation. It marked the first time a Glow-in-the-Dark record inserted into a Die-Cut jacket creates a message. Regardless of darkness, it "Can't, Won't, and Doesn't Stop" shining–just like Adam Yauch. That's why it's called The ETERNAL 7". This vinyl glows red and is VERY heavy–feels like 300 gram! The jacket is a heavy stock with metallic foil printing and a coating that's fingerprint-proof.
