THE BEATLES WHITE ALBUM LP, This copy looks to be a 1970-1971 WINCHESTER US Pressing on APPLE RECORDS. It was originally released in 1968.  It was the 9th and only double album by The Beatles.  I was 9 years old when this was released, and my dad was an audiophile and bought a copy when it was released.  I had been a Beatles fan already for a few years, having my mind blown when Sgt Peppers was released.  But this LP more than any other had resonated with me the most, and still to this day I count it as one of my most sacred of LPs, and one I can't live without.  The White album had 632 different pressings, and if you bought a US pressing 2 weeks after the date of release, you were looking at a high number on the cover.  In the first 4 days in the US alone, the LP sold 3.3 million copies.  The sales of the White album in the US have totaled over 12 million to date. BUT- Just try and find a great numbered clean copy with inserts, and that will show the kind of play and abuse that most of the copies received.  This copy is numbered  A2,300,120 with no space between the A and the 2.
At around two million copies, the first pressing ended. New numbers were added in groups as they were necessary.

Some copies from * 2000001 to * 2057000+ were from Jacksonville. It appears that the number allocation right around two million was goofed. Some are known from Scranton. This likely led to an
allocation to both printers, although currently I do not know of any duplicated numbers, and my chance of locating them would be slim.

Numbers after the overlap, up to about A2263000+ are typically from Scranton.
At that point the automatic stampers were replaced. Scranton's new stamper has No. in a compressed typeface, although the printer (Queens?) randomly alternated back to A2******.
Some of the Scranton allocation was sent to Winchester, Virginia, after that plant opened in late 1969. Since these are scarcer, and since high numbers from Scranton still have the Capitol logo on the sliced-side labels,
I suspect that Winchester took over in 1970.

This copy is outstanding.  The VINYL has full gloss, and looks and plays almost as new all around. The sound of the vinyl is just great.  It's a beautiful sounding copy.  The cover is in VG+ CONDITION with great shine from the white, but as everyone knows, the White album covers suffered from being white.
The spine shows some slight handling wear with one small rub below "THE BEATLES".  The top os the seam has some fraying of about 1/8".  The words "THE BEATLES are printed slightly to the right, where "STEREO SWBO101" at bottom is centered on the spine. The COVER front and back has a wraparound white paste on laminated white cover that doesn't cover the top and bottom.  There's ring wear on both sides, as pictured.  It's minimal, and I've certainly seen much worse, as the white is susceptible.  Back cover, bottom right, someone wrote what looks like "C349 X2" Looks like it might be in pencil, but I didn't and wouldn't try to erase it.  The bottom seams have a 2" split on the front cover at the opening, and a 1/4" split on there back cover at the opening.  The top seam has a 1" split on the front, and a 3" on the back at the opening.  My guess is that previous owners kept all the insets in the covers, and while they are well preserved, it put stress on the covers.  The inside gatefold is in beautiful shape, really clean and great.  There is a tear on the top left corner inside the gatefold.  The 2 sides of the LP don't meet perfectly when gatefold is closed, with the back cover sticking city  a bit further than the front.  There are 5 very small dings on that back cover opening where the LP must have pushed into some rack.
The VINYL plays beautifully.  It is a very well cared for copy with careful play.   Record 1 has some visual pressing marks from the inner that doesn't affect play.
The INSERTS are all included and are in absolutely NEAR MINT condition, with not even a fingerprint on the photos.  The poster is exactly the condition you would expect from originally opening the LP.
