I play the guitar very badly.
If I could play the guitar as well as Martin Simpson, I still wouldn’t be able to play it properly, because I’d be patting myself on the back all the time.
The only time I have ever seen the MAGNIFICENT Albert Lee look slightly worried was when he shared a stage with Martin Simpson as a member of Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings. Martin hit half as many notes, but they were perfect notes in impeccable order.
Here he is on FINE FORM with “GOLDEN VANITY” a 12” vinyl LP on TRAILER LER 1099, from 1976 when he was a bit more rootsy and folky and it is, apparently, his FIRST LP under his own name.
He is of course, stupendous, and your life will be a long vale of misery and disappointment if you don’t buy this fine LP.
It’s very clean and tidy and plays beautifully. I would conservatively rate it as a very strong VG+++ and the sleeve not far behind.
Here’s yer track list:
Beaulampkin
Snowdrop (Kirk McGhee)
Bitter Withy
Cindy
Golden Vanity
Soldier's Joy
Pretty Polly
Love Minus Zero/No Limit (Bob Dylan)
George Campbell
Gotta Little Home To Go To
Louisiana 1927 (Randy Newman)
I am not a dealer.
I am just an old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of records before the floor collapses.
I'm selling most of this stuff for much less than I paid for it.
What a great business plan (I don't think)!
The LP in the photograph is the LP you will get.
I have described the item to the best of my ability, and everything looks in splendid condition to me.
