WHiRL - Distressor - 12" EP
The Sounds Of Sweet Nothing - SWEET2
(2011)

I am thinning out some of the duplicates from my record collection...this one is a rare promotional copy of Whirr's first vinyl release, Distressor (EP).  Shoegaze Revival from former Deafheaven, current Nothing

This is from the original limited edition import pressing of only 500 copies.  Rare because it was the band's final release as Whirl (they were forced to change their name to Whirr, under threat of lawsuit) and because of the naked Nicole Kidman pics on the front and back cover (from the Stanley Kubrick film, Eyes Wide Shut).  Includes original glossy inner sleeve with lyrics.

CONDITION:  play-tested vinyl is in VG+ condition or better.  It looks Excellent (EX) and has only been played 3-5 times, but all the copies I've heard were on vinyl with a bit of surface noise, so I downgraded appropriately.  Purchased from 1-2-3-4 Go Records, this promo copy has a fold-over style of cover sleeve like you might find with a 7" record (except big enough for a 12").  The edges of the sleeve are jagged (I thought about using a slide-cutter at Kinko's to straighten it out, but decided to leave it as I received it).  Includes the same printed inner sleeve that the rest of the pressing came with.  [SEE PICS]

GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS:

M (mint) Record is new, shiny, never played.

NM (near mint) Record is like new, probably played a few times, but it doesn't effect the quality of a sound.

EX (excellent) Record in great shape, may have light marks, played more than a few times but low in surface noise or no surface noise.

VG+ (very good plus) Record has been played more times, it has more marks and surface noise, it doesn't skip.

VG (very good) Record has been played many times, may be more surface noise, but it shouldn't skip while playing.

G (good) Record is in bad condition, this is worth only for archive items - just to have that until you find a better copy
