DESCRIPTION
Rita Da Costa - “Meets The Cedar Walton Trio” Finite Records FIN-1976-3 (Stereo) from 1976. Great and super obscure Female Jazz Vocal Album from Rita DaCosta backed by Cedar Walton and his Trio with Scoby Stroman and Herman Wright. Produced by John Lewis - I don’t know if it’s “that” John Lewis. On the appropriately named Finite Records label. White with Black print Labels, I don’t know if these are Promo Labels or if they were all like this, doesn’t mention “Promo” or “DJ” on them. From what I’ve read, most copies of this album have problems with the pressing quality and are somewhat noisy. This is the only copy I have ever seen personally so I can’t comment on the others but this one does not seem to have those problems, plays great!

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some very slight basic ring wear and some corner softening including a small crease in the upper right corner. There is a Promo drill hole in the lower right corner. Still, in really nice solid shape with no splits, writing, tears, stains, etc. and I would rate it at least VG+. The Vinyl itself is in Pristine, Glossy condition looking to have been barely played - in fact I would say that it appears close to Unplayed. If you look closely you might possibly spot a tiny scuff or two but pretty close to New condition and easily Near Mint. The labels are also Near Mint with the exception of an old price sticker on Side 1 - should be easy to remove if you want.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
