In 2001 I made 2 versions of this song "the Moon".  One was all Stereolabby and electric and pulsing.  This other one was more spacious with just acoustic guitar, piano and saxophone.  Mirah and Karl sang and played.  I used the loud version on the album "the Glow pt. 2" and this other version got put out as a 7" by someone in San Francisco who had a label (like people did back in those days).  Instatone Brand Records.  I don't remember if I ever met the person.  I would pretty much say yes to any invitation to release something.  I wanted to flood the world.

The music for this later appeared on Song Islands and can be heard wherever, but this artifact is cool.  Khaela Maricich painted that amazing cover based on a picture from an old science fiction magazine she got from the library.  I wish I knew where that original painting is.  It's around here somewhere.
There's also a pamphlet that came with the record that is basically like a free verse elaboration on the lyrics.
This is "new", fresh from the archives, never been played. Selling my old things, shedding the old skin so a new spring coat can grow.
