DESCRIPTION

James Brown / Louie Bellson Orchestra / Oliver Nelson - “Soul On Top” King Records KS 1100 (Stereo) from 1970. Hard to find NEW SEALED Original Stereo First Press of this great Soul / Blues / Funk / R&B album from James Brown backed by the Louie Bellson Orchestra featuring Ernie Watts, Ray Brown, Buddy Collette, Maceo Parker, Jr., Jimmy Cleveland, Chuck Finley, John Audino, Tom Porello, Bill Pitman, Louis Shelton, Frank Vincent and Joe Romano among others. Conducted by Oliver Nelson. Gatefold Cover Sealed in the Original Shrink Wrap with No Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. Just a note: the song order as listed on the back of the cover are different from what online sources say with B3 “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag” being flipped with B6 “For Once In My Life”. Because the LP is Sealed I can’t check to see which is correct, same songs, slightly different order so no big deal either way.

CONDITION

In NEW, SEALED condition in the Original Shrink Wrap. The shrink is torn / cut away in the bottom right corner and ther is some very slight wear on the edge there. There is a bit of corner softening / wear. Otherwise pretty much perfect and easily Near Mint. Please note - Sealed Records are assumed to have Mint Vinyl by definition. Because there is no way to check the condition of the Vinyl or Pressing and Label details without opening they are sold AS-IS and are not returnable!

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
