In the last few months, things, as you know, have changed dramatically due to the pandemic. Global transportations, logistics and mail processing and delivery have taken a turn for the worse. What was considered ‘normal’ as a waiting time period simply does not exist anymore. What was considered a long, illogical delay is considered the new ‘normal’ and even 2-3 months of waiting for a package to reach Europe, Japan or the United States is considered, again, ‘normal’. As a seasoned Ebay seller, I have to admit that this is the worst period ever for our ‘community’…

So, with this in mind here is what to expect:

-if you live inside Europe, I can tell you that a normal waiting period is 3 weeks, maybe a bit more. I have had packages delivered within five days, but others took more time.

-if you live in Japan, the waiting period should be about 3 weeks (maybe 4?) as well.

-if you live in the US, please consider a waiting period of 4-5 weeks as normal. If a package is not delivered within 5 weeks, it does not mean that something went wrong – you just have to be patient. The USPS is facing difficulties that have resulted in huge delays.

-if there is more delay, than what I mentioned above, I will work with you in any way that I can from my end to help get through any problems, so that your order reaches you safe and sound. If there is a claim we need to make to the Postal Service, it is I who can do it (even if the package has already reached the US, the USPS won’t accept a claim made by the addressee). In most cases this means that I have to pay 5.00 Euros ($6.00) to open the case, which is something I can live with if it helps you get your order. But this can be done ONLY IF you have not received your order after 2 months, or if the package appears to NOT be moving 6 weeks after it was posted.

-I will ship your order within 2-4 working days after receiving your payment.

-I will always send your package Registered (signed-for delivery, with tracking number) and provide the tracking number as soon as it’s on its way.

-I will always do my best to honor my end of our transaction.

But, you also need to know the following:

-I don’t run the USPS, nor any other postal service for that matter, so I am not responsible for their delays.

-I don’t appreciate abusive messages. While (being both a collector and a seller for decades) I understand the frustration caused to the buyer by a delayed package, I cannot understand antisocial behavior nor abusive people trying to extort refunds from sellers (via the possibility of negative feedback).

-If you show kindness and honesty, I will always try to help out and communicate. If, though, you are keen on ‘exploding’ or cursing just because the poster (or the vinyl record or the photos) you bought took ‘longer than expected’ to arrive from one end of the world to the other, then please do both of us a favor and do not bid on my items.

-If a person is not honest, if a person does not have manners, if he is abusive, then he won’t be taken seriously. In that case, please refrain from buying from me or from bidding on my auctions. I don’t need that kind of business or transaction.

So, if – in these troubled times – you can find it in your heart to be patient and kind while waiting for your order, then please feel free to bid on my auctions.

It will be my honor to assist you in any way that I can.
