One of the most sought after classical records in incredible condition. Came from the home of a true audiophile who immediately placed all new LPs in his collection into an anti static inner and then protection outer for the sleeve. It looks to have been barely played in its lifetime, if at all. There’s an original SAX EMI inner included.

VINYL:

The vinyl is a solid NM with some thumb marks near the centre. I don’t want to attempt to clean this (even on a machine) due to the value. It looks to be virtually unplayed. The anti static inner has kept it extremely glossy and full of life and I can see no spindle marks.

It has the correct first press matrix of:

YLX 1048-8 01

YLX 1049-8 A1

(I’ve tried to capture these in the photos)

SLEEVE:

Sleeve is super bright and glossy has spent its life in a protective sleeve. Another solid NM. It is a 3 way flip-back with no corner bumps. It’s one of 3 versions I’ve seen of the first press with a smaller stereo symbol top right. No printing credits on reverse and both "Recording first published 1960" and "Made and Printed in Great Britain".

All in all this is, I believe, the cleanest copy of this LP to have come on the market of late and true collectors item.

I will be listing more LPs from this collection and one other - please feel free to browse and combine postage!
