G+/VG  THE BEATLES - Abbey Road - Original Misaligned Apple LP No Her Majesty

These records are all from my personal collection built up over almost 50 years. Some were bought new, others pre-owned so condition will vary. Please do read and understand the detailed description which is my honest personal assessment - you can always check how good or bad that is by checking my feedback. My attempt at grading is based on the commonly used Record Collector grading system (as detailed below) except I won't use Mint. Questions are welcome if anything is unclear. Happy bidding..

This listing is for the 1969 Beatles classic in misaligned Apple sleeve with no 'Her Majesty' credit on sleeve or label

The Beatles
Abbey Road
UK Apple label
1969
Cat Number: PCS 7088
Mode: Stereo

The Album:
Timeless classic album as originally issued with misaligned Apple logo and no sleeve or label credit for Her Majesty. (Also the front cover photo for this first issue shows a bit less of the trees than later ones). Not in the best of condition but still plays fine - see photos for track listing (if you need to!)

Condition:
Cover: Fully laminated single sleeve has general wear with some creasing and lifting of the laminate. There is some just discernible evidence (dried gum) of removed sellotape along top and bottom seams although the seams are fine and intact. No writing or stickers. Spine text is partly worn away (see picture). Plain white inner.
Labels: Apple labels are clean, average number of spindle marks, no writing or stickers.
Vinyl: Vinyl has quite a few of the customary and expected paper scrapes but nothing at all nasty. It plays with the odd touch of faint crackle, never over intrusive, and generally well throughout

Overall:
A well loved but decent playing original copy of this classic - I'd guess that it might be professionally graded at (cover / vinyl) G+ / VG

Terms:
Please note that I try to test-play at least part of each record before listing. I played all of this one, but if you do discover a problem which I might have missed, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do all I can to rectify the situation.

Postage: I always make a loss on postage. Ebay now surcharge sellers 10% of postage costs for which there can be no justification - I refuse to pass this levy on to buyers, so you only pay post and packing, they get to rip me off, not you.

Current UK internal weight ranges allow two or three LPs to be posted first class for the same cost as one. Second class charges can currently cover 5 or 6 albums but for 4-6 I'll use a second mailer. Approximate prices for normal postage with new custom packaging -

UK £4-19 first class for up to 1kg (1,2 or 3 average weight LPs), £3-49 second class for 1 - 3 or £3-88 for 4 - 6 LP's. Double LP's count as two

These amounts include estimated actual Royal Mail cost for first class or air mail, plus 39p for cost of packaging material (a brand new custom mailer with stiffener).

International bidders welcome, but postage will be handled by the eBay global shipping program - unfortunately I have no control over the onward shipping cost, just the UK leg which will cost as above.

I'm happy to hold records for a short while if you wish to bid on more and combine shipment, but it helps if you can let me know particularly when bidding on items separated by a few days.

Losses: Royal Mail maximum compensation is £20 unless items are signed-for. Compensation on signed-for shipments is up to £50. Payment by Sterling cheque / money order, or via Paypal

The time has come to sell my whole vinyl collection as I know it won't be appreciated by my daughter or grandchildren, so I'm shifting it myself and hope I find good homes for it. Listed items are selected at random so there should be a decent if not particularly logical mix coming up over the next few months if you keep an eye on my other items now and in the future.

Thank you to all who have already given new homes to my beloved vinyl, and may you continue to enjoy these records for years to come

GRADING: UK Record Collector Grading system:
(I try to grade along the same lines as professional sellers might. However, I don’t use Mint or NM for any LP’s of significant vintage as most will as a minimum have paper scuffs and dust / static build up however good they look .. so EX+ is as good as I will go. I don't have any of the lower 3 grades which are there for reference only. Most records in my own collection are VG+ and EX, the sleeves will tend to be VG and VG+)

MINT:
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be Mint.

EXCELLENT:
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
