This is a “special pressing” vinyl record of the Beatles famous 1966 Yesterday and Today “Butcher” cover. It is NOT a first, second, or third state cover. It is a re-issue that was purchased at Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas around 2010 or so. IT HAS NEVER BEEN OPENED, IN MINT CONDITION.
I have also included two pictures taken from albums that are open (I have three that are opened, but this one has never been opened). As you can see, one pressing is in bright yellow, the other is in dark yellow. I have also have a pressing in white, but I did not include a photo of this. The pressing might be in any of these colors or another color. The pressing is a MONO pressing, as was the original album.
This cover from the 1966 album was released in the United States and Canada. It features a photo from Robert Whitaker depicting the band dressed in white smocks and covered with decapitated baby dolls and pieces of raw meat. Capitol Records printed 750,000 copies of this album with the “Butcher” cover and then recalled them, replacing this cover with one featuring a bland photo the Beatles sitting around an open trunk.
