This is an ORIGINAL 1963 EARLY STEREO PRESSING OF THE 1963 IMPULSE RECORDS LP titled 'Duke Ellington Meets Coleman Hawkins'. It is Impulse Records U.S. catalog number A-26 / AS-26, think cardboard gatefold cover, heavy rigid vinyl pressing. Record comes packaged inside the cover in its original Impulse Records stock inner sleeve with pictures of other then-current Impulse Records LP releases.
Album was recorded at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs NJ, on August 18th 1962 - The runout areas bear the 'VAN GELDER' machine stamp.
I recognize there are a number of label variations with this LP, associated with the different early pressings - Rather than try to discern myself exactly which pressing is on offer here I have included images of both labels so that the buyer may make this determination himself or herself.
