ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS IS BACK! (LPM-2231) FIRST PRESSING with RARE, UNREPORTED COVER STYLE!
RECORD: VG+ with pleasing, glossy surfaces. However, there are many very light scuffs, none of which can be felt with the fingertip. This Indianapolis pressing has been play-tested in its entirety and it retains full high fidelity. It plays great with no skips or repeats! The labels are very clean, attractive and original with just some light spindle marks noticed. This album was released in April of 1960 and includes freshly recorded songs by Elvis just after his return home from the Army. The matrix numbers end with 5S/6S.
COVER: VG+ RARE, unreported cover variety! However, there is a lower seam split of approximately three inches in length from the open end. Additional edge and corner wear is noticed as well as some light ring wear on both sides. This particular cover is not listed in Jerry Osborne’s “Presleyana VIII”! It is exactly like “Cover 1”, with the record pocket involving the civilian clothes side. However, the song listings are printed directly onto the front! This is normally seen on later covers when the record pocket was changed to the Army uniform side. This is the first cover of this nature that I have ever seen, and I believe that some of these must have been made in a transition phase just prior to the updated cover design. Note that the as-made nail (or tack) hole remains centered to the upper edge as seen on the covers that have no song listings! There is no tape, writing or staple holes anywhere on this cover. The original gray “RCA Victor” inner sleeve is included.
GOOD LUCK!
I COMBINE SHIPPING! $4.00 for the first LP, then 50 cents for each additional. Should you win more than one record in my auctions, PLEASE do not pay until you receive an updated invoice from me reflecting Combined Shipping! Otherwise, I will have to refund you the difference for over-paid shipping. International Shipping is available to select countries. Please do not ask me to check “Gift” instead of “Merchandise” or to declare a low value on the Customs Form! This would be considered Mail Fraud. I ship all records packaged with the best of care to ensure that they arrive to your doorstep in the same condition as when they leave my hands.
ALL of my records are U.S. pressings unless otherwise stated.
Payment is expected within 5 (Five) days from close of auction via PAY PAL ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE. I normally ship within three business days from close of auction, but please allow a little extra time in the event of a holiday.
Returns are accepted if you are not completely satisfied with your item. I strongly believe that my grading of records is spot-on, but we’re all human and something may occasionally be missed upon inspection. I will do my best to ensure customer satisfaction.
2022 marks 44 years of experience for me in this wonderful hobby. I specialize in Elvis Presley because he is "The King".
