DESCRIPTION

Aretha Franklin - “Aretha In Paris Recorded Live At The Olympia Theatre” Atlantic Records SD 8207 (Stereo) from 1968. Hard to find Original U.S. First Press of this great Live Soul / Rock / Funk / R&B album from Aretha Franklin. Great backing from an orchestra Conducted by Donald Townes and Backing Vocalists Carolyn Franklin, Wyline Ivey and Charnessa Jones. In the Original Cover with NO Promo markings or Barcode. Includes the Original Printed Atlantic Inner Sleeve. This is an MGM First Pressing as indicated by the “MG” in the label matrix, the 1841 Broadway address in the label rim text and Vinyl Runout / Matrix markings that read:

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear and corner softening. There is a name written on the front. There is a promo sawcut in the upper left corner. Super solid with no splits, stains, tears, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. When you look closely you can spot a few scuffs and light hairlines. VG+ visually  and plays mostly EX to Near Mint all through just a couple spots of light groove noise and a soft tic or two. The Labels are Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
