Grateful Dead Sampler, “Recently Dead” Arista SP-35 Near Mint Vinyl, 1978 Rare, Promo Only.

Very limited, promotion only sampler serviced to Rock Radio in 1978 by Arista Records. White label, and very limited pressing. The vinyl of this copy looks pristine and never played. The sleeve has some ring wear, but totally intact. The inner sleeve is a generic Arista blue paper sleeve that is also intact, but a little faded after 44 years.

Arista had recently signed the Grateful Dead, and for solo projects by The Jerry Garcia Band and Bob Weir. This 10 track sampler had recordings from “Terrapin Station” “Shakedown Street” by the Dead, and solo projects by Jerry, “Cats Under The Stars”, and Bob, “Heaven Help the Fool”. For Grateful Dead vinyl collectors, this is a rare release, and a good touch point for the Grateful Dead legacy.

Songs on the Lp:

“Bombs Away” Bob Weir

“Shakedown Street” Grateful Dead

“Estimated Profit” Grateful Dead

“Ruben & Charisse” The Jerry Garcia Band

“I Need a Miracle” Grateful Dead

“Good Lovin’” Grateful Dead

“Passenger” Grateful Dead

“Easy To Slip” Bob Weir

“France” Grateful Dead

“Cats Under the Stars” The Jerry Garcia Band
