In the annals of metal there is no band more synonymous with an unswerving commitment to the single-minded defiance of expectation than Behemoth. Over the course of their remarkable 31-year career, these Polish hellraisers – spearheaded by Adam Darski, aka Nergal – are more than just the architects of their country’s legendary extreme metal scene. Over the course of three decades and previous 11 albums, Nergal’s singular vision has forged Benemoth into something far more than a mere black metal band. Beyond any confines of genre, they have grown to become nothing less than the personification of rebellion, individuality and unflinching self-expression informed by a literate worldview and worldliness that’s resulted in a locking of horns with everything from the mainstream press to the Polish Catholic church – most notably manifesting in Nergal’s trial for blasphemy in 2010 that only served to expose the deep-seated hypocrisies that his music seeks to challenge. It also highlighted the distinct lack of fucks that he has to give.  

Now world-renowned and yet exuberantly underground in their convictions, Behemoth are perhaps the unlikeliest of success stories, but if their stratospheric ascent and hard-won commercial achievement can be attributed to anything, it’s a cast-iron unwillingness to compromise. As 'Opvs Contra Natvram', their 12th studio release heralds from the rooftops – their longevity is down to a resolute commitment to find new ways to enthrall and inspire their ever-growing legion of latter-day heretics, a determination which shows no signs of erosion. It’s changing times and new battles to fight to which Nergal attributes Behemoth's unique ability to sound fresh despite their incredible tenure. Therein lies the inspiration for the album’s title and striking cover artwork. 

The 12 chapters of fury that make up 'Opvs Contra Natvram' were written and recorded over the course of a very strange year for the world, a situation which only heightened the level of craft seen in these 43 minutes and 15 seconds of honed, searing wrath. As with previous studio outings, 'Opvs…' was produced by Behemoth with engineering duties undertaken by acclaimed Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir and In Flames producer Daniel Bergstrand. Mixing, however, involved a new player on the chessboard who you’d be hard-pressed to guess - famed producer and mixer Joe Barresi, a studio legend with a breathtaking credits list which includes Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains and Tool just to name a few. He was chosen for his celebrated ability to simultaneously preserve a studio recording’s organic feel and identity, and the inspiration for the decision comes from a place you’d least expect.  

From the sound of 'Opvs…' there is no doubting the artistic summit that Nergal and Behemoth are aiming for. From the colossal energy of opener 'Post-God Nirvana' to the epic and righteous indignation of 'Ov My Herculean Exile' and album-closer 'Versvs Christvs' - a riveting extended track featuring piano and clean vocals which are destined to turn heads Behemoth’s latest is the ultimate soundtrack to these strange and troubled times.

Shipping

Eyesore Merch is based in and ships from the United Kingdom.

We ship all orders exclusively via Royal Mail. We offer various shipping methods throughout our store. Please check each individual product’s shipping options and rates carefully before buying.

Get It Fast! Our handling & despatch time is typically less than one business day.

Orders received before 2.30pm from Monday to Friday will be despatched on the same day. Orders received over a weekend will ship on the following Monday. Please note that you will receive a despatch notice on the day that the order has been prepared for shipment.

Orders received during the weekend of a UK public holiday will ship on the earliest available working day.

Please double-check that the full, correct shipping address has been entered before completing checkout. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the shipping address is correct. We cannot change a shipping address once the order has been processed and dispatched.

On receiving your order, if you are not entirely happy with the item, please refer to our returns policy.

UK Postage Options
Royal Mail Second Class - Our default postage service. Normally delivered 2-5 working days after shipment, but could take up to a maximum of 14 days. Includes a Delivery Confirmation Number (note: this is not full end-to-end tracking).

Royal Mail First Class - A premium service. Normally delivered 1-2 working days after shipment, but not guaranteed. Includes a Delivery Confirmation Number (note: this is not full end-to-end tracking).

Royal Mail Special Delivery - A guaranteed premium service. Next working day, guaranteed before 1pm. Fully tracked. If you need the item urgently, for example for a special occasion, we strongly advise upgrading to Special Delivery shipping.

International Postage Options
We ship all international orders via Royal Mail International Standard Airmail (for exceptions, please see below). This normally takes 5-18 days from shipment, up to a maximum of 40 days (this may vary relative to proximity to the UK).

For Australia and New Zealand, please allow 7-21 days from shipment. Once your order enters your country, the final mile delivery will be handled by your national mail carrier (e.g. in the USA, it will be delivered by USPS).

IMPORTANT: Royal Mail International Standard Airmail does not include tracking. While we recognise that full end-to-end tracking is included as standard in many countries, unfortunately, this is still a premium service in the UK through Royal Mail (our national mail carrier). If you require a tracked service, please contact us via eBay messenger for tracked shipping rates.

Please be aware that sometimes, disruptions and delays out of our control may occur. Unfortunately, this is particularly prevalent with the current COVID situation. If you have not received your order within 40 days after purchase then please do contact us.

Customs Charges
We understand that for international customers, a fee to receive your order may be charged by your local customs authority, whether this charge occurs or not is completely out of our control. Therefore the payment of any such fee (import tax, duty, or any similar customs fees) is solely the responsibility of the buyer.

Please be aware that we will not falsely declare the value of an order for the purpose of reducing the likelihood of your package attracting a customs fee. In order to comply with customs laws both in the UK and internationally, we are obliged to declare the true sales value of the goods.

Returns & Exchanges

We offer a no hassle 30-day right-to-return policy.

If, for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with your order, please contact us within 30 days of receiving it. Please contact us via eBay’s messaging service with your order number, and specify whether you require a refund or an exchange. We will provide detailed return instructions, and then issue a refund or process an exchange upon the item's safe return to us. Please note that we require all returned goods to be returned in the condition in which they were despatched.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund or exchange returned items that have clearly been worn, washed, soiled or intentionally damaged. If in our opinion any of these situations apply to a returned item, we reserve the right to refusal of refund.

Return postage costs
Eyesore Merch cannot cover return postage costs if the item is no longer desired, does not fit, or for any customer error (for example, if the wrong item was ordered).

We will cover the return postage costs if an item arrives in a defective or damaged condition, or if we sent an incorrect item.

Cancellation
If you place an order but then decide that you no longer want the item(s) then you have the right to cancel your order and request a full refund, no questions asked. However, if your order has already been processed and despatched before your order is cancelled, then please refer to our right-to-return policy.
