In 1973, in the middle of the Great American Nowhere, five guys aged 16-23 recorded almost 60 sixty tracks on a 4-track recorder.  It was a crazy mix of power pop, hard rock, psychedelia, proto-metal, bubblegum and pre-punk. We pressed up 100 15-track demo records. They went to family, friends, disinterested record labels and eventually the collector's market, where a copy could fetch up to a grand. Over the last two years, I've spent hundreds of hours digitally re-mixing all the tracks transferred from the original 4-track tapes in 24 bit stereo. Everyone in the band has heard it, and they all agree with me that THIS is how it was supposed to sound. I figure that's good, because I had to make twice as many this time - 200.
