Funkadelic – Tales Of Kidd Funkadelic 1976 US Westbound (Pitman) Funk / Soul, P Funk

Funkadelic was an American funk rock band formed in Plainfield, New Jersey in 1968 and active until 1982. As one of the two flagship groups of George Clinton's P-Funk collective, they helped pioneer the funk music culture of the 1970s. Funkadelic initially formed as a backing band for Clinton's vocal group the Parliaments (later the full-fledged band Parliament), but eventually pursued a heavier, psychedelic rock-oriented sound in their own recordings.
'Tales of Kidd Funkadelic' is their eighth studio album, released in September 1976. It was their final album on the Westbound record label. The tracks were recorded during the same sessions as their first release for Warner Brothers Records, 'Hardcore Jollies'; which was released a month later. Two tracks from Tales of Kidd Funkadelic, the single “Undisco Kidd” and the party anthem “Take Your Dead Ass Home!” have been staples in the band’s live performances since the album’s 1976 release.
The custom printed unlaminated card gatefold sleeve would certainly conservatively grade as EX+.  It shows few signs of handling and only minimal storage wear and corner rubbing, bumping with a little ring and edge wear. The spine is readable and the entry edge shows minimal signs of use.
The original paper inner does have a small tear in the centre and is only graded as Fair.
The vinyl is without doubt EX+ and has not been played much - if at all. The Westbound labels are unmarked with no spindle marks. On play grading there was a little light noise on the run in on both sides but nothing substantial during the remainder of the album - maybe a pop or click  but nothing to spoil the enjoyment of the record - even at high volume. It plays superbly with very strong audio. The surface is very clean, glossy and shiny with no noticeable marks apart from the odd fingerprint, a nice copy that conservatively grades as EX+.
The Matrix numbers are believed to be
Matrix / Runout (A-side runout): P M-227-AS AZ  Matrix / Runout (B-side runout): P M-227-BS AZ
An opportunity to acquire a great album in excellent condition overall.
