Robert Fripp – God Save The Queen / Under Heavy Manners 1980 UK EG Electronic
Robert Fripp is an English musician, songwriter, record producer, and author, best known as the guitarist, founder and longest-lasting member of the progressive rock band King Crimson. He has worked extensively as a session musician and collaborator, notably with David Bowie, Blondie, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall, The Roches, Talking Heads, and David Sylvian. He also composed the startup sound of Windows Vista operating system, in collaboration with Tucker Martine and Steve Ball. His discography includes contributions to over 700 official releases. His compositions often feature unusual asymmetric rhythms, influenced by classical and folk traditions. His innovations include a tape delay system known as 'Frippertronics' and new standard tuning. 'God Save the Queen/Under Heavy Manners' is his second solo album, released on the E.G. Records label in 1980. The album largely consists of 'Frippertronics', with much of the work being performed by improvisation. On the Under Heavy Manners side of the album, the effect was modified in what Fripp described as 'Discotronics', adding a solid drum beat and bass line to create a sound that could be suitable for dancing.
The custom printed laminated card sleeve would certainly conservatively grade as NM. It shows few signs of handling and storage wear (minimal corner rubbing/bumping) and very little ring and edge wear. The spine is readable and the entry edge shows minimal signs of use.
The original custom printed thin card lyric inner is undamaged. Graded as NM. One of the first copies this has the postcard showing Robert Fripp sitting on his stool, performing 'Frippertronics.' The postcard is in Mint Condition.
The vinyl may have been played but is without doubt NM. The E.G. labels are clean with only the hint of a spindle mark. On play grading there was a little faint noise on the run in on both sides but nothing substantial, and maybe a rare pop or click (certainly nothing to spoil the enjoyment of the record - even at high volume), during the remainder of the album. It plays superbly with very strong audio. The surface is very clean, glossy and shiny with no noticeable marks, a superb copy that grades as NM.
The matrix numbers are believed to be

An opportunity to acquire an album in superb overall condition. An archive copy.
