Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells 1973 UK Virgin, Rock - Very Early Press
Michael Gordon "Mike" Oldfield is an English multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, working a style that blends progressive rock, folk, ethnic or world music, classical music, electronic music, New Age, and more recently, dance. His music is often elaborate and complex in nature. He is best known for this album, which also established Virgin Records
The custom printed fully laminated card sleeve, printed & made by the E. J. Day Group, London & Bedford with 'Distributed by Island and E.M.I.', would certainly conservatively grade as EX+. It shows little sign of handling and storage wear (very minimal corner rubbing and bumping) with minimal ring and edge wear. The spine is readable and the entry edge shows minimal signs of use.
The original white paper inner is undamaged and grades as EX+.
The vinyl is without doubt EX+. It has been played - but not too much. The white Virgin labels are unmarked apart from a few spindle marks. On this early pressing the tracks are simply credited as Tubular Bells Side One and Tubular Bells Side Two on the labels. On play grading there was nothing substantial, maybe a rare pop or click (certainly nothing to spoil the enjoyment of the record - even at high volume), during the remainder of the album. It plays superbly with very strong audio. The surface is very clean, glossy and shiny with no marks, a superb copy that conservatively grades as EX+.
The Matrix numbers are believed to be
Matrix / Runout (Runout, A-side, stamped): V 2001 A-2U Matrix / Runout (Runout, B-side, stamped): V 2001 B-2U
An opportunity to acquire a superb album in great condition overall.
