A GREAT COPY

NOTE: This song is a flagship hit from the early talkie "The Great Gabbo" (1929) -  with Erich von Stroheim playing egocentric ventriloquist (Gabbo)  who is possessed and  manipulated by his wooden dummy, Otto. In love with a dancer (Betty Compson), Gabbo  plunges deeper and deeper into his deteriorated ego, alienating to himself the girl, who finally indulges in relationship with another performer (Donald Douglas). In this film, Erich von Stroheim revealed his whole dramatic genius and no one was surprised, when a year later he received Oscar for his lifetime achievement.

Tom GERUN (né Gerunovich)  - was a popular American  bandleader and composer born in 1900 in San Francisco, CA. Having started as a student at the Polytechnic high school, at the age of sixteen his skill as a violinist brought him an engagement to play with the orchestra at the famous Portola Louvre in SF. After playing in such well known places as Tait's, the Palace Hotel and the Winter Garden, in the age of 19 he organized his own orchestra and toured the West Coast. Next he filled an engagement at the Roof Garden in San Francisco and subsequently made several tours with his orchestra, covering the entire United States, having also had two engagements in New York city. His band was a Bruswick recording orchestra, and his music was broadcast over the N. B. C. In the 1930s up until about 1959 he was the co-owner and manager of the Bal Tabarin night club at Columbus Avenue (Chestnut Street) in San Francisco (now called Bimbo's 365 Club).

A Quick NOTE ON GRADING AND SHIPPING:

As you can see from my feedback, I try hard to earn your POSITIVE FEEDBACK and FIVE STAR RATINGS.

If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING.

Quick note on grading:

The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately

When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise.
"EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing.
"VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing.
"Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise.

These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment.
