THE BEATLES - WITH THE BEATLES. The Catalogue Number - PCS 3045 - suggests that this is a re-issue from '70/'71: the original was a Number 1 in 1963/64, (have Guinness Hit Singles & Albums Book as reference for all this) when it stayed at the top for a remarkable 21 weeks!! The Matrix Number on this ends in 6, suggesting to me that it was 6th reprint of this re-issue, assuming what I've read about Matrix Numbers is correct. I bought this - and a few other Beatles Albums - probably between '80 & '83 (they were all re-issued again in '87, with different Catalogue Numbers). This plays well (I "cleaned" it only with a record cloth before playing, as always), with no jumps, ticks, or disruptive scratches, so would like to call it "Excellent". For me, the Sleeve is also "Excellent". Both may be better (please see Images). This Album does not have any Hit Singles on it, but does have the excellent covers of "Money" and "Please Mr Postman", as well as their own great "All My Loving" and "It Won't Be Long". Fab-4-ulous!
Having recently put all my Records in order, I've started to play through them for the first time in probably over 30 years - very enjoyable so far - but with space having to be freed up now (I have this Album in a different format now), this is the 28th of 366 Artist L.P.'s which I bought (am keeping 17 of them so far, but am only at The Beatles!), with a further 40 Comedy or Compilation L.P.'s.
Please feel free to ask anything.
Many thanks, Scott.
