Listen At YouTube: Formed in the autumn of 1968, Skin Alley was a hybrid of many musical influences ranging from psychedelic rock and jazz to folk and blues, all of which melted together to become something very unique. Their first album was released on 6th March 1970 by CBS Records and it's critical reception was extremely favourable. In June 1970 the band gegan to work on their second album, but soon after they received a commission to write and record a soundtrack to a film about the famous German fashion model Veruschka, entitled" Stop Veruschka"´. Recorded over a two day session in November 1970 it contained completly new and mostly instrumental material. Unfortunately the film failed to gain a full release, but at least the session were approved by CBS for release as the next Skin Alley album. Test pressings were made (only 1 copy is known to exist today) but finally the soundtrack album was consigned to the vaults and "To Pagham And Beyond" LP was released in December 1970 instead. Recent search for a Skin Alley double CD anthology reveiled the existance of the original master tapes and all of the tracks destined for the shelved album are presented on vinyl for the first time.
