Lem Winchester and Benny Golson - Winchester Special - LP - New Jazz Records 8223 . Deep Groove . An extremely nice copy of this classic hard bop recording led by Winchester , who at the time was working full time as a police officer in Wilmington Deleware while playing vibes at night . He co leads the date with the great saxophonist and composer Benny Golson . They are joined by the always creative Tommy Flanagan on piano , the bassist Wendall Marshall , and the great Art Taylor on drums . The cover is in near mint condition . The record is also in exceptional , near mint condition with very light wear around the spindle on the label . A choice copy of one of the better titles issued by New Jazz .
