LP ORGONE BOX "CENTAUR" (SUGARBUSH RECORDS SB 500), limited to only 400 copies on vinyl, out now - ltd. ed - no repress ever-guaranteed!!
A long overdue vinyl release of the classic 1996 gem of Psych-Pop album. With new tracks, remastered & partly re-recorded. This great album was released on cd only in 1996 by TDK Records Japan. TDK went under and so did the album's existence until by a strange and fortuitous road it was re-discovered by Bill Forsyth of London's Minus Zero Records. Issued to massive acclaim in 2003 it nearly got Rick (Corcoran, for he IS Orgone Box) a deal with Parlophone.
But slipping once again into the ether Rick kept a low profile for ten years until Sugarbush Records tempted him out of hibernation. He has obliged wonderfully with this version of that classic first album. Imagine John Lennon fronting Phil Spector's Wall Of Sound with McCartney helping out (again) with the songwriting: This record is a sweet shop filled with mind bending sounds, jangling guitars, phased vocals and brilliant songs. The original recordings have been radically reworked. The songs have been mastered at the correct speed this time, some have been completely newly recorded and there is a brand new song - "Wethouse"! Fans of the original CD will rediscover this record and hopefully a new generation of Hipsters, Janglers, Tambourine Men and Gamblers will also take a chance on this masterpiece. One of the great "lost" albums of the 1990s-finally on vinyl.
