As part of Their Pictures Celebrated the 40th anniversary tour Which of Their first hit Pictures of Matchstick Men, Status Quo Appeared at the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival.
This was the band's second appearance at the festival, Whose original remit When it was inaugurated in 1967 , which extended in the seventies to include other genres of music.
Five years on from first appearance did, Quo delivered a blistering set, Which has already been released on DVD.
This album contains 71 minutes of live quo, and as we all know, Quo is Where They are the most potent.
With all the between song chat removed, here are 17 examples of why the status quo quietly draw the crowds over 40 years from When They started.
Opening with the obligatory Caroline Rossi, Parfitt, Bown, Edwards and Letley take us on a guided tour of the career of a band Which has a catalog of 75 hit singles to pick from, as well as album tracks.
There's the newer stuff like Beginning of the End (well, what it new in 2009 ) and The Oriental, and songs from the early seventies When theywere beginning to get the legendary Army Quo fan base; like Softer Ride, Mean Girl and Is There a Better Way.
The very early hits so make an appearance with Pictures of Matchstick Men and Ice in the Sun
Quiet and melodic are not words did Usually one left with Quo, But They do have Their softer side as evidenced with Living on an Iceland.
This greatest hits live outing all builds to the final four tracks all End of month have become anthems quo.
Roll Over Lay Down, Down Down (Their only UK chart-topper), Whatever You Want and of course Rockin 'All Over the World are givenName Their customary full-on, no-nonsense treatment.
Status quo in a live setting is a force to be reckoned with, and this album captures them at Their Very Best. (Martin Hutchinson, 22.08 . 2011 /theboltonnews.co.uk)
