Album Notes
This is the first album by the Tim Burgess-fronted act since the death of Jon Brookes, the founding drummer who played with the band for over 20 years. Modern Nature is their 12th studio album and was produced by Jim Spencer, and while the strings were arranged by Sean O'Hagan of the High Llamas and Stereolab, the brass arrangements appearing here are courtesy of Jim Paterson. Three of the band's stand-in drummers contributed to the album's sessions, including Gabriel Gurnsey of Factory Floor, Peter Salisbury of the Verve, and Stephen Morris of New Order. ~ James Wilkinson
