You are bidding on   KODALY SONATA FOR UNACCOMPANIED CELLO OPUS 9 WITH JANOS STARKER ON CELLO.

This is the extremely rare 1950's mono  US pressing - thick cardboard cover, thick heavyweight vinyl , deep groove rd and silver label.

Cover is VG+ ( no seam splits , a rarity for this issue) with some minor corner dings. The back has some light tears on the pasted info sheet .

Visually the vinyl is a very glossy VG++.

Play graded on a high end turntable ( Kondo cartridge)  there are 2 issues.

On side 1 there are 2  linear scratches  that will produce a tick  and a quick skip when the stylus travels along it .  The 1/2 inch  scuff mark that crosses this scratch does not affect the sound.

On side 2  , there is C type scratch at the beginning of record. This will produce a quick skip when the stylus meets it

Also please note that you will hear some occasional light background noise which is inherent in the type vinyl used in these very early 1950's pressings which does not detract from enjoying this rarity.  Even new unplayed records will have this light background surface noise.
