Here we have for sale a very rare 12" vinyl of the unofficial 14 track Nirvana live/rarities compilation "Saturday Night Not-So-Live", as released in the United States sometime back in the 1990s.
Both record and sleeve are in stunning condition for their age.
Read on for more info....
**The label is printed in black ink on a white label (misprinted?) "Saturday Night Live", "Rehased (sic) Songs", "Made In The USA", and "Radio Sample - Not For Sale" and has the category number SCREW-002Side 1 wax etching: L-10234 M A - SCREW-002 A. Side 2 wax etching: L-10234 M B - SCREW-002 B**
**The record was brought back for me as a present from the States by a friend many years ago. It has been played only a few times and has been well looked after. I have no idea how many are in circulation these days, but as far as I can see this is the only one on Ebay at the moment. I'm aware of some coloured vinyl pressings of this same record, but as to when and where they were pressed and whether the track-listing matches up I have to plead ignorance I'm afraid!**
Tracklisting is as follows (extra info provided where I can!)
Side One
1 Smells Like Teen Spirit (Saturday Night Live January 11, 1992)
2 Territorial Pissings (listed as "Territorial Pissing (!), also Saturday Night Live January 11, 1992)
3 Heart Shaped Box (listed as "Heart Shape Box", Saturday Night Live rehearsal September 25, 1993 - listed as 1995 on sleeve!!!)
4 Rape Me (Saturday Night Live September 25, 1993 - listed as 1995 on sleeve)
5 Lithium (MTV Music Awards 1991)
**None of the live/television performance tracks on Side One have been made commercially available. The sound quality overall is impressive considering the source material**
Side Two
1 Penny Royal Tea (Withdrawn Re-Mix) (no further source info on this, sorry)
2 In His Hands (aka Verse Chorus Verse, not sure where this version is from)
3 My Sharona  (live snippet, not commercially available)
4 White Lace and Strange (same radio performance version as on the 'With The Lights Out' box set, quality of the mix is as good, if not better)
5 Suicide Samurai (Anorexorcist - also from the 1987 KAOS radio session and, as above, available on WTLO box set)
6 Blandest (1988 demo, also on WTLO and 'Sliver - Best Of The Box compilation)
7 I Hate Myself and I Want To Die (appears to be the original recording, not the beefed-up Beavis And Butthead version)
8 Verse Chorus Verse (aka Sappy)  (the band recorded this track a number of times, not sure from where and when this version dates)
9 Spank This (aka Spank Thru - from the Sub Pop 200 compilation, I think??) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**The sleeve, featuring a stunningly bizarre cartoon of the band with John Belushi and Andy Kaufman, I would grade as damn near EX condition, having been kept in a plastic sleeve the whole time, some fold and crease to the spine and barely-there ring-wear and that's about it**
**The vinyl itself is clean and shiny having only been played 2, maybe 3 times, but seems to have obtained a few superficial hairline scratches on one side. I'd probably grade it as VG+ to be on the safe side, but all in all it's a damn fine example of one of the rarer of Nirvana's unofficial releases.**
