This is the rare UK 1st pressing of the GLASTONBURY FAYRE.
COMPLETE WITH ALL INSERTS AND BAG, PLUS a STICKER and a LETTER.
REVELATIONS - REV 1-2-3
clean labels "DEMO NOT FOR SALE" on their front sides
The record was bought along some other rarities from a sales rep before it closed down. This is part of a batch of rare stuff (a white test press of the very record, some Hawkwind and Grateful Dead rarities, etc.).
He said that this was a test of some sort which was discarded from the production process. I don't know the reason as I never played it because I don't have a turntable anymore. Visually it looks exactly a common early Glastonbury Fayre on the Revelation label.
The 6 labels have a stamped “DEMO COPY – NOT FOR SALE”.
Needless to say this is NOT the Akarma repress, nor has any inserts from it.
Complete with all its inserts (2 posters, polyurethane bag, booklet, aluminum pyramid foil + LETTER from Revelations Records to the guy who ordered it).
LETTER FROM REVELATIONS (date 2/7/1972)
There is an accompanying letter with some handwriting apologizing for some delay in delivery of the record. It cites “some issues with the bags". It also has some words about hoping to like this record, etc. I don’t know the origin, the names, or the rarity/authenticity of this letter, It was kept in the bag along with the inserts when I bought it. The sender is from Revelations (I was told from the rep) and the receiver is some Sue or Sir. The paper (from some notebook) has yellowed edges, but is perfectly kept with its sharp corners. I don’t know nothing more about it.
LABELS
The labels have stamped a lettering “DEMO COPY – NOT FOR SALE” on all their sides (6). Another rarity is that all these labels are similar in colors (green with white trimming on the logo). This is very rare as it was usual to mix up the labels during packaging. Most sets have mixed variations of labels within the same set (white trimmed revelations logo on one disc and yellow trimmed on the other).
POLYRETHANE BAG
The polyrethane bag has neat and clean artwork with all the areas clean from fades. One of the best kept bags to be seen, with just some minor yellowing on the edge due to the 39 years passed and a couple of minor holes (less than 5 mm each). Storage is a problem for this sort of material. Usually this bag is missing from these sets! Minor creasing and shelf wear.
POSTER COVER AND INSERTS
The multifold poster cover and inserts are in top shape, without no dog ears, fadings or bends, normal shelfwear.
The cover, due to its very thin nature of material used, shows some minor ringwear due to storage (minor), but has the spine and corners in top shape. There are no bends or ears or fadings. The aluminum foil sheet has sharp edges and its ink has no fadings. The same applies for the two posters (electric score & dome sweet dome) which are close to mint too. The booklet is in perfect shape with sharp corners and clean spine too. No tears, holes or splits anywhere in the whole set!
VINYLS
The vinyls are mainly EX, but judgement is visual only. I see some paper scuff and no major lines. I never played this record on a turntable. Still looks nice for a 40 year record. The vinyls were kept in protective sleeves.
ALL ITEMS ARE JUDGED BY MY OWN STANDARDS, TRYING TO BE IN LINE WITH RECORD COLLECTOR RATES, BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND THEY STILL REMAIN SUBJECTIVE. I downgraded my judgements, some sellers could easily consider these vinyls as Near Mint...
Record is in E condition with several scuffs and lines overall (strictly
visually graded both sides). I never cleaned it or played it, it could look more attractive with a good cleaning.
Ι do not expect it to play flawlessly. It is a record to keep and not to play.
PLEASE REFER TO THE PICTURES. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET, NO EXCEPTIONS.
IF YOU NEED MORE TO DECIDE, PLEASE ASK. ASK FIRST IF UNSURE, AND THEN PAY.
ALL OFFERS ARE WELCOME AND ANSWERED, EVEN THE LOWEST, MUST SELL IT.
My son's room space forces sale.
Please
feel free to ask questions or photos. I can grade only visually, I do
not own a turntable for more than 15 years, so most of my collection
will be sold except the rare ones. All my records were never cleaned
with solvents, so are not corroded in any way, just the normal cleaning unless described otherwise.
ITEM WILL BE PACKED SAFELY, RECORD WILL BE PUT IN A PROTECTIVE SLEEVE OUTSIDE THE COVER. RECORD AND COVER WILL BE SEPARATED FROM A THICK SHEET OF CARDBOARD. REGISTERED AIRMAIL ONLY. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM SO FAR. FEEDBACK SPEAKS FOR ME.
Please understand that due to the rarity of the record returns are not accepted unless if the item is described erroneously, or the pictures don't show it as it is. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, no returns.
