A 1st issue of the NO.2 Stones album from 1965 on the UK Decca label. Matrix 2A/2A. The record label design is consistent with the very 1st issues that were available at the time of release. It states 'Made In England' at the 12 o'clock position and does not mention 'Decca Record Co. Ltd'. At the six o'clock position there's no mention of the production and recording credits - these are present on later copies. BIEM & NCB are showing on the left of the label - 6 months later they are regrouped and start appearing on the right hand side. The Lp comes housed in an original James Upton printed cover with the now infamous 'Bling Man' text on the rear. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) Has been well cared for and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. We only detected some light static in a couple of the tracks, but even this is relatively minor. The audio quality is absolutely top-notch, beautifully rich, and vibrant. You just can't imagine later copies managing to capture the moment in quite the way this original does.
Cover (Vg+) Are often shot to bits, but this one has survived the years much better than most. The front is still nice and shiny with only some light laminate creasing. The rear is still in very good condition with some ageing and one sticker mark. Overall the cover still retains good rigidity and the spine is still fully intact. A great example of that sought after original cover!
Inner (Ex) Little ageing and no splits. The LP will come housed in an Exstatic inner sleeve.
