A stereo 1st press of Crusade on UK Decca from 1967. Matrix 1W/1W. Stampers 1B/1C. Please note the labels exhibit the deep groove only found on an early 1st press. The heavy set vinyl some housed in an original MacNeill printed cover. Also included is an original Decca inner sleeve from the time.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is only light and infrequent. All we detected was a touch of light static in a couple of the track. Track 1 does exhibit a bit of crackle, but this is not invasive and it peters out soon or later. A very nice player and the 1st press to boot.
Cover (Ex) In fantastic condition with a lovely shiny front and only exhibiting a couple of crease. The rear , which is often the problem area, is remarkably free from fading. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains superb rigidity and doesn't feel far off a new cover.
Inner (Ex-) A touch of ageing, but no splits.
