George Wallington Quintet - The New York Scene New Jazz 1957
Original deep-groove promo copy of this 1957 session featuring Donald Byrd, Nick Stabulas and Phil Woods, recorded by Rudy Van Gelder. Incredibly preserved for over 60 years in a private collection.
Vinyl condition: Side 1 = EX, Side 2 = NM
Vinyl graded under strong light. Absolutely stunning condition at first glance. Upon close inspection there are a few visible, non-audible  hairlines on Side A. Side B is NM with 2 light light hairlines only visible under strong light.  The playback of the record is wonderful the whole way through, with only 2 singular, non-repeating mid-level pops noticed throughout entire album. Absolutely no ticks, clicks, skips or loud pops. There is a visible, non-audible warp which raises the needle slightly during each rotation. I have played the LP on several different turntables and cartridges and the warp does not effect play on any of them.
Cover condition: EX
Amazing, hard to find in this shape. Promo stamp on back cover. No splits, no tears, no writing, no bumps, no creases. The only thing keeping the cover from NM is that it has a very slight bow. Feels incredibly crisp and sturdy. Laminate is tight and intact.
The fidelity of this recording is incredibly clear and the quality of this pressing is phenomenal. Don't miss a chance to own this rare jazz grail in top condition.
