RECORD GRADING GUIDE Mint | Near Mint | Excellent| Very Good | Good |  A single plus (+) or minus (-) symbol is used to show an incremental upgrade or downgrade in the overall grade.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mint (M):  Still sealed, or in perfect, pristine condition. Very rarely used for an opened record.

Near Mint (NM):  A nearly perfect record. The record shows no obvious sign of wear, except for maybe one or two hardly noticeable hairline scratches of the most superficial kind. The LP jacket looks new and is free of writing, ring wear, scuffs, stickers, creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable defect. No cut-out holes or notches. No wear, writing, stickers, etc. on the record label.

Excellent (EX): Just a notch below NM, but better than VG. May have a few superficial scratches, but none so deep that they can be felt. Sound quality is not affected. Record label may show only the slightest signs of wear or aging. LP jacket may have a crease, corner bump, the slightest bit of ring wear, or similar defect or two, but no other defects.

Very Good (VG): Record surfaces may show some signs of wear with visible scratches and/or scuffs. There may be some surface noise, but the record should play through without skipping. A very slight warp that does not affect the sound is acceptable.  The record label and center hole may have some wear or writing, a sticker or discoloration.  LP jacket may have corner bumps, creases, scuffs, a little bit of writing (such as a name), a sticker, ring wear, slight seam splits, a cut-out hole or notch, or similar defects (but not all of these defects at the same time).

Good (G): Record has significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear but should still play through without skipping. Seam splits, scuffs, tape, stickers, writing, significant ring wear or other defects on the jacket and/or record label are more prominent.   Fair (F) and Poor (P) Record has many deep scratches, is possibly warped and is unlikely to play without skipping. Jacket and/or label is damaged to the point of distraction.   Notes:  1. Please see pictures for condition of record labels. 2. Inner sleeves, custom or otherwise, may often contain creases, seam splits from holding the record, etc.  Assume that all inner sleeves are VG.  3. Each record is wiped clean, but I cannot guarantee that a record of any condition will necessarily be completely free of a small amount of dust. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a music fan and record collector myself, I know the importance of proper grading and so I grade on the conservative side. But as we know, grading is not an exact science and can be subjective.  I do my best to apply these grading standards accurately. When you receive the record, if you disagree with the grade, please let me know and we will work it out.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LP records are from my personal collection. I always took meticulous care of them, never stacking them or touching the grooves. Most were played only a few times and, with only a few exceptions as noted, are still in high quality condition. Nobody ever borrowed them and they were never played at parties. They have been stored vertically in protective plastic mylar sleeves in a non-smoking, temperature controlled environment for many years. Record purchases are shipped with a plastic mylar sleeve and two cardboard padding inserts. The vinyl is taken out of the jacket to avoid seam splitting in transit.
