An original pressing of Rubber Soul on the UK Parlophone label from 1971[around 6 years after 1st release]. Matrix 3/3. Stampers 2-MM/3-MO. Please note Gramophone is mentioned in the perimeter label text and this was discontinued in 1973 - so it's quite easy to date this LP. Also worth bearing in mind that the early 70's Lp's were still tube-cut just like the original 60's versions, but they represent a far more affordable route to decent quality audio. The vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with three flip-backs. Also included is the original Emi sepia toned advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/NM) In astonishing condition and has only seen the very lightest of use. Under close inspection there are a couple of super light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. It really does provide a fantastic rendition with absolutely astonishing transparency. Interference is literally not-existent. All we detected was a couple of crackles [literally] the whole way through - very very unusual. Overall this is a terrific rendition of Rubber Soul at a very accommodating price.
Cover (Ex+) Has clearly been very carefully looked after down the years. That iconic front cover is still lovely and shiny without fading or creasing. The rear is in pristine condition and has almost totally avoided the usual ageing issues. Just the smallest bit of grubbiness on one of the flipbacks which can probably be wiped down. Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and its difficult to imagine bettering.
Inner (Ex+) No ageing. No marks. No splits...perfect...
